Dear Spotware,
As you might know, a strategy description contains vital information to be provided to all the current and potential investors.
This is the strategy cover which, among other, can contain some warnings/rules to follow, etc.Consequently:
- Why is this supposedly limited to 1024 characters? Even an SMS allows longer text now a days.
- Why can't images be uploaded ?
- Why is "@" not allowed ? Can't providers be conytacted if they want to?
Actually, it has been really a mess for me to fit a description given all these limitations.
It is not only about the 1024 characters limit but also affected by the formatting. I've noticed that, when trying to edit the previous description, the save button automatically gets disabled by only placing the cursor in the text box, without changing any content. Why has this been limited / made annoying to this point and why is this kept like this?
I believe this is something you've already been aware of for a long time.
Thanks for clarifying.Dear Spotware,
Is there any chance that this will be improved in the future?
Thanks.
Dear Spotware,
A friendly reminder to inform on this.
Thanks.

Hi ncel01,
But will it be effective since an user name can always be changed and, apparently, there is no way to look into a register with the ROI charts of all the strategies previously provided by an user?
You will be able to see what the strategy did and got blown up. User name change should not affect this info.
Is there any chance that a strategy history/statistics can be migrated to a new account or, alternatively, that the trading account is migrated to a new broker so that traders don't need to start this from scratch?
It's like asking to transfer your bank account's history from one bank to another. I don't think this would ever be possible.
Hi Panagiotis,
The strategy provider will have the opportunity to keep publishing the exact same strategy and that will remain unnoticed. Meaning that it won't mitigate any future damage on investors.
I believe that the real issue does not lie on the strategies but on their providers as some of these intentionally cheat on investors.
Regarding bank accounts:
That could have been a nice comparison, however the purpose of a bank account is not exactly the same as a cTrader account neither my concerns (mentioned above) are applicable to these.
It's finally Friday..
Have a great weekend!

Hi there,
I think the intention is obvious. Strategy providers delete their strategies as soon as they blow up their accounts and followers are left wondering what happened. This way strategies will be left in public for some time so that followers have the time to evaluate what happened.
1.Can I rename the Strategy?
2. If I ask my broker to delete my cTrader trading account - will the strategy name be deleted the same time the trading account is deleted?
You can just create a new account
I am sure If we the cTrader users voted for the option 'Delete Strategy' to be removed almost no one would be for it
Obviously since this is a walk of shame for many strategy providers. But it's a necessary measure.

Regarding a change in broker:

Imagine for instance a strategy that was running for years.. It is not very nice to depend on any broker to keep this information alive. After all, a strategy is mainly personal and not much broker-related.
It would be great, for instance, that traders can opt to associate an account to a different broker under certain conditions like: if there are no open positions/pending orders and the account balance is null.
Thank you.

The Equity Graph of Analyze in cTrader Desktop contains deposits/withdraws, which makes the curve quite un-readable and confusing. The equity curve is used for traders to review their trading performance, so it should only contain PnL which are generated by trades. This is the norm in the industry, look at other platforms like meta-trader, or whatever performance graph shown by any funds. Please change this to get rid of deposits/withdraws in the equity graph!
Hello,
You can always check performance on ROI chart (%) which is not function of deposits/withdrawals.
Considering that equity is affected by the deposits and withdrawals I think it is correct to consider these in the equity chart.
I also think it is important to be informed on deposits and withdrawals as these will help tracking any ROI pumpers.

Could you please provide feedback on this once you get to any conclusion(s)?

Hi ncel01,
Why to check this with the broker if cTrader copy is a feature developed/provided by Spotware?
To decide if an execution is wrong, it needs to be first investigated by the broker, who controls the entire chain and has access to all the information. If the broker determines that there is something wrong with the platform, it's their responsibility to contact Spotware and pass all the relevant infomrmation.
Also the service is not provided by Spotware. It's provided by the broker.
Hi Panagiotis,
I see. It makes sense.
It is a feature developed by Spotware and provided to the broker (when subscribed). Only then a broker can provide this feature to its clients. That's what I meant.

Hi Bob,
From what I understand, some trades have not been copied in your follower's account . As per Spotware, copying results are not guaranteed and may not match those of the Strategy Provider for the following reasons
- The entry and exit prices of your positions differ to those of the Strategy Provider.
- The size of your positions differ to those of the Strategy Provider.
- The commissions you pay to your broker differ to those of the Strategy Provider.
- Your broker does not offer the same symbols which are being traded in the strategy.
- You did not have enough margin to follow some of the orders placed in the strategy.
- You may have a different Stop-Out Level causing your account to be stopped out, while the Strategy Provider continues to trade.
If you still think the above reasons do not apply, then raise the issue with your broker for further investigation.

Hi Panagiotis,
Such an issue is, apparently, not limited to the reasons mentioned above.
I've followed my own strategy (demo mode) just to have a look on this.
Same broker, initial funds, etc. No deviations here.
The strategy return was ~-0.5% at the moment I started to following it and, it should always be lower than that of the account I have used to follow it, if considering an accurate mirroring.
However, at a certain point, this has changed and the strategy account return was higher than that of the copy account.
Obviously, some trade(s) have not been mirrored accordingly to the copy account. I am even aware of what trade it was. However, the reason why this happened will remain a mystery, I guess.
Why to check this with the broker if cTrader copy is a feature developed/provided by Spotware?
If something is not working properly Spotware should investigate as this can be caused by some bug.
Thank you!

Thank you!

Hi to both,
Why do you guys follow such a high leverage strategies?
The purpose of high leverage is only one: to blow up with any trading account.
No matter what the previous profit was, at some point the account will be drained.
Just think about the following: even with a 9999999% return, a drop of 100% will always mean a loss.
I am sure the brokers are grateful.

Could you please inform if this broker offers copy trading?

Dear trader,
Wasn't this information supposed to be connected (without fail), by Spotware, to the real trading conditions applied by the broker?
No, we do not set up the trading conditions of the brokers. Brokers set up their trading conditions based on their offering. Please talk to your broker.
Best regards,
cTrader Team
Hello,
That's obviously not what I meant.
My question is in fact very simple and clear:
1. Why are the trading conditions shown not linked to the real conditions applied?
2. Why is it possible for a broker to show trading conditions that do not correspond to the real conditions applied?
This is not about "set up the trading conditions of the brokers" but about consistency and reliability by not allowing this to happen. This is definitely a cTrader issue.
Following this, it is possible for a broker, for instance, to mention 0 swaps/comissions while charging these.
3. Where is the transparency here?
I am pretty sure you understand what I mean.

Dear Spotware,
In fact I was already expecting that answer, reason why I ask the following:
Wasn't this information supposed to be connected (without fail), by Spotware, to the real trading conditions applied by the broker?
Apparently every broker is allowed to "hammer"/manipulate this information, which is something really serious, not a detail.
When you cannot even rely on the trading conditions that are shown something is really wrong.
I wonder what other advantages brokers are able to take from a platform with the motto "Traders First".
Thanks for clarifying this further.

Hi ncel01,
I mean this one
If no memory is released when you click on it, then it's a cTrader issue. Else it's just the GC being lazy.
Hi Panagiotis,
Sorry, I thought you meant implementing GC.Collect() in cBot code.
I tried the above but I did't see any clear improvement.
However, I don'd think this proves that there is no issue with cTrader when it comes to memory management. In the limit, only what is referenced to be collected will be collected, right?
I also don't think that acting "lazy" is a very technical behaviour for a .NET native method.
