These are valid chartist-user suggestions. I have noticed all of them as shortcomings. We all know that "robots" are the future of commission generation for vendors, that's cool, but please don't forget screen traders. UI for classic chart-traders is so important. And that from a guy who was coding robots to trade D and W bars back in 1997.

#5 - please, hotkeys for drawing tools. And a setting to keep a drawing tool active. Drawing 5 lines means re-clicking the line button after each line is drawn, unless there is function that I am missing?

RE:

Also, some horizontal pivot lines (from both a Pivot indicator, and separate Round Number indicator) will disappear depending on the position of price action when clicking-dragging the chart background. If you drag the chart background a little, the Pivot lines re-appear. I have seen this numerous times on other charts in other workspaces regardless of the indicator set

Additional info: dragging the chart background downwards seems to make the horizontal Pivot Indicator lines vanish, around the bottom 3rd of the window. Dragging a few cm higher and they re-appear. When the Pivot lines disappear, the line labels do not - they remain on screen.

Hi Panagiotis, I always appreciate you attentive replies.

However Ctrl-C isn't fast enough when it really matters. The fastest I have is clicking the center wheel on my mouse to toggle cross hairs. But that comes with the risk of accidentally scrolling that chart at really the wrong time.

Hi guys,

The issue has been fixed in v3.5. Can you please check if you can reproduce?

Best Regards,

Panagiotis

Will do. But you should caution users that if they load a Workspoce from 3.3 in 3.5, it will not open in 3.3 again. So, suggest to make a copy of the 3.3 workspace before using it to test in 3.5.

A variation on this theme would be "seconds per bar". Meaning, amount of seconds elapsed for each N-tick bar to form. Plotted as an indicator.

I have this issue, have posted on it. No solution yet.

Sems only to happen to me on first trade of a new cTrader session. And if you sit a while, the button will work eventually.

However, the same button within the positions tab always works.

Requested display info below, but first another issue, see underlined, please help asap:

  • If I open the workspace in v3.5 beta, the popped out charts appear where they should (where they were when I closed the app)
  • Once I open a v3.3 Workspace in v3.5, the workspace can then no longer be loaded in v3.3.  THEREFORE, as it stands right now, I am no longer able to open my trading Workspace on my broker instance of cTrader and am unable to trade as a result. This really is not cool.

REQUESTED DISPLAY INFO

1280x1024 and 17 inch diagonal.

Of the three displays:

1. the laptop that runs the show, it doesn't contain any cTrader windows. It is the "main display"

2. contains the cTrader application window. The workspace is set to Tabbed.

3. the display in question. It contains three popped-out charts, A, B and C

A) chart is maximised to consume half the screen width (using the Windows and right arrow key in Windows 10)

B and C) both charts are smaller and positioned manually. These are the charts which revert to the laptop main display when I re-load the Workspace in v3.3

It happens on 3.3 and 3.5 Desktop.

I suspect it is related to one of my workspaces, because another more simple workspace does not have the lag. But I can not isolate what the key difference is.

When I switch to Daily from Tick, the day's Deal Map first appears where the D bar should be, then the lag, then the D bar appears.

I appreciate all your help.

Hi Panagiotis, removal of that indicator has improved RAM usage. I am at ~600MB after a few hours.

Seems this might have been caused by a 3rd party Pivot level indicator.

Would still be very nice if we could lock the price scale so that a workspace always opens with the same scale.

Fib retracemnets also remain on-chart after changing symbols. Indefensible. Not one trader in the world ever asked for that feature.

The merged menu not only greatly improves navigation but also saves more space once collapsed comparing to the previous version.

Underlined... I'm not experiencing this claim. The collapsed vertical left hand side menu seems to be the same in v3.5 as it was in 3.3

I initiated the new thread from within Suggestions. But then in the category menu, I selected "Desktop", which obviously posts the thread in that forum section.  My error, I thought it was the suggestion category.

Anyway, reposted there, so pls delete this one.

Examples of VERY common user actions which cause the price scale to resize and show all objects on screen, thus squashing price action to a thin band:

  1. scrolling chart with mouse wheel
  2. opening trade monitor window at the bottom of the screen
  3. zooming the chart
  4. changing time frame/ticks/pips of the bars

I'll bet there are more.

Hi Panagiotis, did you get my last troubleshoot data?

- Seems that RAM ticks higher with the tick count on chart. Hits 1500MB within a few hours as explained.

- Seems that after I change symbol, RAM usage drops all the way back to 400MB. But it takes maybe a minute or two for that to happen.

Ergo, tick cache?
