I know this is probably a noob question, but yes, Why do cBots stop after closing the cAlgo platform?

Dear Trader, 

It happens because the robots are actually installed in your platform: whether it is cAlgo or cTrader. When you close the platform, it automatically closes the robots, since they are the part of it.

If you need the robots to run 24/7 a VPS is the answer. There are many alternativs to choose from depending on your needs. A VPS located in London is the best choice when it comes to cAlgo and cTrader because most brokers have a direct connection and low latency to the data centers in London.
