anyone tried smarttradeonhoursbreak bot for xauusd?

so i stumbled upon this SmartTradeOnHoursBreak - XAUUSD bot on the cTrader marketplace. it's supposedly designed for trading gold, and they’re asking $359 for it. what caught my eye was the claimed 58% monthly roi, which seems pretty high. profit factor sitting at 10.0 sounds impressive too, but i'm a bit skeptical about these numbers. i mean, a max drawdown of just 11.22%? does anyone here have actual experience with it in a live environment? i'm curious if it's as good as the metrics make it sound, or is it another case of backtest magic? would love to hear some real-world feedback before considering shelling out that much.

thanks for the response! yeah, backtest results always make me a bit cautious, especially with those perfect-looking numbers. good point about demo testing it first. i guess it's all about seeing if it holds up in different market cycles, right? i'm still on the fence, but i might just take your advice and test the waters with a demo first. would love to hear if anyone else has run it for a few months, though. wonder if it's worth sharing any other bots you've tried that actually delivered decent results live?

hey, haven’t personally tried that specific bot, but i've messed with a few others on cTrader. the thing about those high ROI claims is they often look amazing on paper, especially when backtests are cherry-picked to show best results. the real tell is how it performs over time in different market conditions. that profit factor seems hefty, but without seeing it in action over a decent period, it's hard to buy into it. max drawdown at 11.22% is low, which could be legit or maybe just a sign of it not being too aggressive. if you do pick it up, maybe try it on a demo account first to see how it behaves. $359 isn't cheap, especially if it doesn't live up to the hype in a live setup. would really appreciate hearing about anyone who's put it through the wringer over a few months.
