FIX API with no connector

FIX API with no connector

cTrader broker told me:

"There are two ways you can trade on the FIX protocol.  You can open a dedicated FIX account with broker's name and then trade over the FIX protocol with a FIX engine (connector) like mini fix, quick fix or the one from BFJ group  ( https://iticsoftware.com/)  for example.
The reason why some clients choose to trade this way is so that they can have a software developper develop their own trade GUI.  
Or you can trade over the FIX protocol by using a cTrader account.  the cTrader platform already has the FIX protocol built into it.  For this reason you would not need an external FIX engine.

I was very surprised: is it true possible to enjoy all the FIX API benefits with no connector? What should I do exactly to obtain this?

Hi irmantas1981,

I am not sure what your broker means but cTrader FIX API works the same way as any other FIX API. It is an API and you will need to develop an inteface to work with it.
