Risk-Reward Tool - Where is it?
11 Nov 2024, 01:12

Hello.

Been reading here:
https://help.ctrader.com/ctrader-web/charts/risk-reward/

But can not find how to get to the Risk-Reward-Tool - does not show where it should (see picture) according to the Video from the above link. User error, or what is the issue?

Why? It would be useful, if all platforms would have same usability.

It will be added to the rest of the applications in future updates

Ok, that would be useful and pretty much a necessity.

Unless the mistake is on my side, I find the following misleading and wonder why you (cTrader) make it look like it's implemented in Desktop, and making me wasting my time trying to find the feature…

https://help.ctrader.com/ctrader-web/charts/risk-reward/#how-to-customise-risk-reward-parameters

:-) Looking at the weblink, I have to admit: it shows “web”. But who looks at the link, if the text, picture/Video gives a different impression?

Your text on the linked site, and especially the Video - where the picture shows no browser - does however confirm my point that it's misleading to me as of now…

RE: RE: RE: RE: Risk-Reward Tool - Where is it?

Yeah, I'm going to back JohnnyG here on this one.

I have just spent an hour trying to figure out how to enable this elusive Risk-Reward feature.  Having come from another platform that has had it for years, I thought I must have just missed something.  I've been through the algo store, installed cBots (thinking that's what I needed to do), trawled whatever settings I can find, etc etc, but then found this thread.

This is extremely misleading, @PanagiotisCharalampous, and disappointing that such a basic feature is lacking in the desktop version.  Actually, my first impression overall is that there are many basic, basic, features that are lacking, but I'll try to stay on point here.

Please keep your platforms consistent, particularly web vs desktop app.  Serious traders who do this for a living don't use web apps, we need the performance of a desktop app, so don't deprioritise your most valuable target market.

Just a comment from my current perspective - probably a bit off-topic:
Most companies in this segment are NOT considering people like us their “most valuable target”. Why? I assume cTrader gets a kickback for every position executed. So what cTrader (and the brokers) want are people coming in from social media, having a high execution rate and will loose their (first) account in 90 days. This is the “valuable customer” here. Social media is feeding the whole segment with fresh money - look at every “professional” peddling TV, certain brokers, or worst these so called “prop firms”. Major money to me made. Ever got a glimpse at IB agreements and the commissions paid? Major conflicts of interest there. Brokers make most money with B-Book (betting against the client, because 90+% loose), and marketing is pushing short (and frequent) trades. So broker makes money on the opposite side 90% of the time, AND the commission, AND the spread, AND money in the interest spread (in Forex). Platform providers make money on every position. Push, push, push. So the more serious ones, who look at it from a more professional perspective and find flaws in the software infrastructure (as we did) don't count much. And then obviously there are only a very few like us, otherwise this thread would have been more populated, or I would not have been the first one addressing such a minor but important missing feature.
And finally to be very clear: If one can trade and make a profit over a certain amount of time, the broker looses (does not like this trader). If it's a good broker, the trader will be put on A-Book, but then the broker will make much less off of this successful  trader, so it's NOT a valuable customer from the brokers perspective…

Actually , the more I think about it, the less I like this whole industry. The odds are not good to make it. And if one can make it for some time, the odds are not good to make it long-term. From many perspectives, it's just gaming, while one can claim to be a “trader”. That's the truth as far as I can currently seem it.
