Last Traded Price vs Bid Price. cTrader vs TradingView
21 Aug 2024, 21:47

I have Pepperstone as a broker and was wondering why is it that the last traded price(LTP) on Trading View is different than the last traded price on cTrader for the same forex asset.

On cTrader the LTP is the same as the Bid Price.

On TradingView the LTP is usually somewhere between Ask and Bid Price(mid price)

As far as I understand, the Bid Prices are just limit orders for buyers. It seems a bit wrong that the LTP on cTrader is exactly the same as the Bid Price. For example, if the last traded price for EURUSD was $1.5 it should be irrelevant that the Bid Price changed from 1.5 to 1.48 or to 1.52 as long as no one has done a transaction since the $1.5 transaction the LTP should always stay at $1.5 (but cTrader would show the LTP on the candlestick chart as the Bid Price changing.). Thank you very much.

Hi there,

There is no Last Traded Price on cTrader since it is impossible to have this information in OTC markets.

Best regards,

Panagiotis
