Advanced Take Profit calculations are wrong
14 Mar 2024, 21:42
Hi, as I was using the demo to get a feel of the ctrader terminal I came across this. The profit that is shown on each profit target is incorrect, as my first target is twice the distance of my SL. 27.47 x 2 = 54.94 54.94 x 0.4 = 21.976 < this should be the profit for the first PT. The calculations are wrong for all my PTs. Not sure if this is just a demo problem
I opened another position with the ‘modify order’ open and here it says two completely different sl/tp's. On the left/right charts they show the same but the middle option has different outcomes. Maybe I'm just being dumb?

This is same reason I'm going back to Me ta.
very confusing. 2RR trade doesn't really give you 2RR profit and its way off, more than the commission.
risk $100 to get $200 in a 2RR trade.
my risk reward calculator tool adds the commission to the risk, to the trade should give 200$ at TP but in c-trader you will see 140 or 150. something is wrong

Your comment does not make much sense to me. Can you provide examples of what do you thing is wrong?
Best regards,

Hi, I have the same problem. The take profit is 2 times less than it should be or so. For example, I place an order with a market with a fixed take of 1 to 4, after the price reaches the take, my profit is not 1 to 4, but 1 to 2 or 1 to 3. It's smaller than it should be. Help please

Hi there,
You need to refresh your math a bit :) It would be 1:4 if you started from 0%. But you start from 100% so it is 1:3.
