Automatic trading by cTrader

I was at a loss with three short positions because the exchange rate rose sharply upwards.

Without asking me, cTrader opened 15-20 short trades to save my position, but it failed them in a row because it could have created  longs.

 Was this some system error or did they intentionally reset my account?

Hi J.Frindt,

cTrader does not open positions by itself in any case. Were you running a cBot? Can you please provide more information, like some screenshots of the trades?

It seems like positions are closed, not opened. It looks like a stop out to me. Please check it with your broker.

Hello Panagiotis,

Thank you for your answer.

Yes we can call it "Stop out" but I did not need this automatic action.

Can I switch off this function in the cTrader?

No, this function is controlled by the broker. Read more here about the stop outs.
