Charts keep disappearing

Hi,

 

I have been using cTrader for a few weeks now.

But now suddenly after a restart I lost all my charts and analysis including the extra windows.

Basically when restarted everything is set back to the original settings after installation.

 

This problem is recurring again when I restart the platform, it's not happening always though.

 

Anyways, how can I retrieve my work? Where is my work saved? I tried to find the cTrader folder but I could not find it.

 

 

I see there is an option to save Workspace, I never used or touched this before.

But as I understand, If I need to use custom workspaces, it will mean I have to save my workspace every time I change a trendline?

 

Hope to hear an answer to this problem soon.

Hi Melledemo,

It is not very clear to us what is the problem since your report is very general. It would help us understand what is the problem, if you could provide us exact steps to reproduce the problem or record a video demonstrating the issue. Regarding workspaces, they are automatically saved, you do not need to save manually every time you make a change. You can read more about workspaces here.

Hi,

I started to work with workspaces now and recreated the charts that I lost. Everything seems to work fine now, when restarting cTrader it opens automatically my custom workspace and everything is saved properly.

Regarding the issue I described in the first post; it seems that sometimes, when closing cTrader for a while and re-opening it later, cTrader would open with the default chart, with its colors and indicators. For example if I would edit the chart and change some colors, add some trendlines, etc., now if I would shutdown cTrader and restart it again, all the work would be lost and I would only have the default EURUSD chart. (not the default template, but the default chart after installing the platform)

At this time I was not using custom workspaces and did not know this existed. But I am pretty sure what I described is not supposed to happen when not using a custom workspace. I will not be recording this, I think my description should be clear enough.

Hi Melle,

The behavior you describe is not normal since there is always a workspace selected in cTrader. We cannot reproduce a scenario where a workspace is not selected. Therefore if you can record a video it would be helpful.
