Cannot open charts in cTrader

Hi there, I am trying to use ctrader and the platform opens fine. The default chart displays, but as soon as i login the chart window goes grey and when i try to open a new chart i get an error message. Attached is a screenshot of the error message.

I have tried both my brokers version of cTrader, and the 3.7 beta which i downloaded directly from spotware. I have uninstalled and re installed both, exited and re opened, created new workspaces. The chart definitely shows in the background while the login screen is open. Once i login though it stops working.
