Trendline inaccurate without Data
Trendline inaccurate without Data

Hello!
I like to make use of Trendlines and Rays on many charts at once. Unfortunately longterm Trendlines are inaccurate or just useless when viewed on a smaller timeframe where the historical data is not already loaded.
It takes a lot of time to always scroll back all the way to the anchorpoints of the Trendline and forgetting this could lead to unwanted trades.
Programmatically this could be solved by calculating more recent anchorpoints on creation of the Trendline, or when switching to a lower timeframe. Some other trading platforms seem to solve it this way and I would be more than happy if cTrader would follow.
Is this an issue that is already being looked at and might this be included in one of the next releases?

Another problem that also effects Trendlines immensely are old Sunday candles.
I do not know if only ICMarkets costumers experience this, but they changed their server timezone to eliminate Sunday-Candles. Unfortunalety the old Sunday-Candles are still in the historical Data Feed.
If you draw a trendline that begins before the change was made it cannot be accurate anymore since the angle changes with the number of bars between the anchorpoints.
The problem could be fixed by transforming the historical data, then longterm weekly trendlines would be useful again.
ICMarkets MT5 and FxPro cTrader are not affected.
I contacted ICMarkets a while ago and they said that they contacted you.
Is this something that could be fixed by cTrader or is ICMarkets responsible?

Hi Medjan,
We can change the historical data if the broker requests it. If they said that they contacted us, then probably this is sorted out between them and our support team.
