Copy Trade Equity drawdown
24 Jun 2022, 20:12

Hi,

I started to use Copy Trade to invest some money with other traders recently. I want to set a capital protection in case things goes wring with the strategy provider (Trader). I see there is already an option for protection "Set equity stop loss". But without knowing the average drawdown for the trader, I can't set a proper value for the protection. I see in the summary there is "Maximum balance drawdown" but this is not a useful information to use in this case. We need to know what is the "Average Equity Drawdown" and the "Maximum Equity Drawdown" for the trader during the selected period so we can set our Equity stop loss accordingly. This information also can express how much risk is taken with the strategy provider.

Thank you and best regards

I think this is still not resolve up to now. CTrader is still using the balance drawdown, and what makes it worst is the computation for the percentage is based on the initial deposit of the strategy provider. So if he ever wanted to deposit more on his strategy, the percentage will be skewed by a lot. Might as well remove that stat because the percentage can become misleading.
