What does the new ProtectionType parameter do?

Hi all,

The ProtectionType is a new parameter added for placing an order with a stop loss and take profit.
I looked up the Help section to try and understand what does the ProtectionType parameter do. 
I understand that they are three values to choose from; ProtectionType.None, ProtectionType.Relative and ProtectionType.Absolute
I couldn't understand what is their effect. Could anyone be kind enough to elaborate how do these options effect an order or position?
