keep an indicator awake

Anyone knows how to keep an indicator awake when processing a slow routine that cannot be run in parallel (Task)? 
Now it quits giving the "Indicator instance [xxx] process stopped responding and was terminated." Message.

Hi Shares4us,

The question is very general a vague. A general response is that if you are blocking the thread, then you cannot keep the indicator "awake". If you explain what you are doing and provide some code, then somebody could help.
