What is the 'Keep me logged in' checkbox supposed to do??

What is this checkbox supposed to do??

i see no difference in checking or unchecking it.

Hi Shares4us,

When you check it, you don't need to sign in the next time you launch the application.

that was what i thought, but sometimes i need to reenter my credentials (often after reconnect ??)
